ものづくりの楽しさと、サスティナブルな暮らし方の大切さをシェアしたいと思い、ミツロウラップを作るWorkshopを開催します！＜English below＞

ミツロウラップとは
100%オーガニックコットン、ミツロウ、ツリーレジン、ホホバオイルから作られた繰り返し使える天然素材のラップです。殺菌作用があり、洗って1年程使えて、生分解性 (環境にダメージを与えずに自然に返る) 素材でできているので役目を果たしたあとも環境に優しいアイテム。野菜など食材を包んだり、おにぎりやパン、食べ残ったおかずの器にそのまま被せたりなどい使い方は色々！

なぜミツロウラップ？

2030年までに二酸化炭素の排出を最低でも現状の45％以上減らすことができなければ気候変動は避けられないと言われています。私たちができることのうちのいくつかはゴミを減らすこと、石油の消費 (=プラスチックの消費) を減らすことです。ミツロウラップは生分解性素材を使用している=ゴミとして焼却する必要がない、プラスチックごみが出ない。そして何度も使える＝今まで使っていたゴミが減るなど、日々の暮らしの中で環境に優しい行動に繋がります。同時に、ミツロウを使うことや蜂蜜を消費することで減少しているミツバチの支援にもなります！

主催者について
Misato Iijima (Vivi)
アメリカで大学卒業後、display coordinatorとして有名セレクトショップに勤務。ショーウインドウや内装のデザインと制作を担当11年間の海外生活を経て2014年に日本へ拠点を移し、空間デザイン、インテリアデザイン、ジュエリーデザインなどを中心に活動。現在はサスティナブルなデザインや活動に重きを置いている。

Asako Inakazu

立教大学観光学部卒業後、新卒一期生として株式会社CRAZY入社。ウェディングのトータルアートディレクションを約150件担当。2018年6月、退職と同時にフリーランスとして活動開始する。企業イベントの空間装飾、インスタレーション制作、カフェ店舗ディスプレイ、ライブ会場装飾など、非日常の空間デザインを軸に活動。

当日は無地と野菜染をしたオーガニックコットンを準備しております。
野菜染はそのまま使ったり、無地は天然食紅を使って色を塗ったり絵を描いたりアレンジして楽しんでいただけます。オーガニックミツロウ、ツリーレジン、オーガニックホホバオイルをブレンドしたものをアイロンで溶かしてオリジナルのミツロウラップを作るワークショップです。（安全性を考慮し、５歳以上のお子様のみ参加可能とさせていただいております。）

To share the joy of making by hand and the importance of sustainable living, we are having a beeswax wrap workshop!

What is beeswax wrap?
It is a reusable wrap for food made out of organic cotton, beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil. It has antibacterial elements, is washable, and compostable, so it is excellent for the environment. Wrap vegetables, onigiri(rice ball), bread, over the plate of leftover food, and more!

Why beeswax wrap?
It is established that if we can't reduce the CO2 emission by 45% of the current rate by 2030, we won't be able to avoid climate change. Some of the actions we can take are reducing waste and reducing the amount of fossil fuel (which could mean plastic) we consume. Bees wrap is biodegradable = not necessary to be burned as waste, doesn't produce plastic waste like a conventional wrap for food, and it is reusable = reduces waste! Just a small action in your daily life could make a difference in the environment. Also, consuming beeswax and honey will support bees which are declining in number significantly.

After graduating from State University in New York, she has worked as a display coordinator for a fashion brand designing and creating the show windows and interior decor. She spent 11 years in the U.S. and moved back to Japan in 2014. Her design fields extend to a variety of media such as event space design, interior design, jewelry design to name few. The current interests are sustainable living and design.

Asako Inakazu
Has worked at CRAZY inc for five years and directed the visuals and decor of about 150 the weddings as Art director. She has been working as a freelance designer for almost a year, designing decor for company events, cafes, live music events, creating art installations, etc. Her focus is creating space that allows you to have out of ordinary life experience.

About the workshop
1st session 13:00-14:30
2nd session 16:00-17:30
Up to 8 adults and 4 kids in each session

adults ¥3,500 per person
kids ¥1,500 per person

There will be plain and vegetable dyed organic cotton fabric. You can enjoy painting on fabric with natural food dye, and you will be melting the mixture of organic beeswax, tree resin, organic jojoba oil using iron. (For safety reason, kids have to be 5-year-old and up to participate. Don't worry if you are not a Japanese speaker, Misato is fluent in English.)
