総合ディレクター牧原依里などの挨拶をはじめ、井崎 哲也と那須英彰による手話パフォーマンスと、このために結成した阿波踊り「手話のまち連」、日本ろう者太鼓同好会、目で世界を捉えるひとびとによるステージを披露し、手話のまち 東京国際ろう芸術祭の開幕を華やかに彩る。
井崎 哲也
日本ろう者劇団顧問 / 俳優
佐賀県出身。筑波大学附属聾学校卒。1979年に東京パントマイム研究所でパントマイムを学び、1980年に「東京ろう演劇サークル」（後に「日本ろう者劇団」に改名）の設立に参加。1982年からアメリカのプロろう者劇団「ナショナル・シアター・オブ・ザ・デフ」に1年半参加した後、日本ろう者劇団に復帰。NHK教育テレビ「みんなの手話」の講師を務める他、映画『あの夏、いちばん静かな海。』（1983年）やドラマ『星の金貨』（1995年）で手話監修を担当。秋篠宮妃紀子殿下に10年間手話を教える役も務めた。現在は、一般社団法人「エル・システマニッポン」のコンサートでスペシャルアドバイザーを務め、「ホワイトハンドコーラスNIPPON」の手話指導を行っている。
那須 英彰
俳優 / NHK手話ニュースキャスター
1967年3月、山形生まれ。幼い頃から映画と演劇に興味を持ち、大学時代に青森の劇団、後に日本ろう者劇団で計15年間、舞台出演。日本ろう者劇団退団後は一人芝居を中心に全国各地、アメリカ、イギリスで上演。1995年、NHK 手話ニュースキャスターに抜擢され、現在 NHK Eテレ「手話ニュース 845」で毎週木曜日夜8時45分～9時に出演中。現在、全国各地で講演、一人芝居活動中。2023年12月 NHK ドラマ「デフ・ヴォイス 法廷の手話通訳士」に出演。
手話のまち連
「手話のまち 東京国際ろう芸術祭」のオープニングセレモニーをきっかけに発足。この日のために、初心者から経験者まで、ろう者・難聴者・手話話者の聴者が集り、目で世界を捉えるひとびとならではの表現を取り入れたユニークな阿波踊りを披露する。

日本ろう者太鼓同好会
日本ろう者太鼓同好会は各地で演奏しての太鼓団体が山梨県での交流会を機に集結し、翌年創立。1994年に第一回となる公演を実施してからは２年に一度の定期公演や交流会を各地で開催中。日本各地の太鼓を愛する仲間たちが一堂に集い「聴こえなくても、やればできる」を合言葉に、バチに想いを込めて打ち鳴らす。 モットー 『明日へ響け 強く 高く そして感動を！われらが叫び バチをにぎる耳の聞こえぬ者たち』

Beginning with greetings from Executive Director Eri Makihara, followed by sign language performances by Tetsuya Izaki and Hideaki Nasu, and closing with a special Awa-Odori dance by the "Shuwa no Machi Ren" group, as well as the Japan Deaf Drum Club. See fresh perspectives through the viewpoint of people who see the world with their eyes in this opening ceremony of the Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival.
Tetsuya Izaki
Advisor to the Japanese Theatre of the Deaf / Actor
Tetsuya was born in Saga Prefecture and graduated from Tsukuba School for the Deaf. In 1979, he studied pantomime at the Tokyo Pantomime Institute and in 1980, participated in the establishment of the "Tokyo Deaf Theatre Circle" (later renamed "Japanese Theatre of the Deaf"). After joining "The National Theatre of the Deaf", a profesional Deaf theatre company in the United States, in 1982, he returned to the Japanese Theatre of the Deaf. He worked as a lecturer for NHK Educational TV's "Minna no Shuwa" and provided sign language supervision for films "A Scene at the Sea" (1983) and drama "Heaven's Coins" (1995). He also taught sign language to Crown Princess Kiko for 10 years. Currently, he is a special advisor for the concerts of "Friends of El Sistema Japan" and also provides sign language direction for "The White Hands Chorus NIPPON".
Hideaki Nasu
Actor / NHK Sign Language News Anchor
Hideaki was born in Yamagata in March 1967. He developed an interest in film and theatre from a young age. During his university years, he performed on stage with a theatre group in Aomori and later with the Japanese Theatre of the Deaf for a total of 15 years. After leaving the Japanese Theatre of the Deaf, he focused on solo performances throughout Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In 1995, he was selected as an NHK Sign Language News anchor and currently appears every Thursday from 8:45-9:00 PM on NHK Educational TV's "NHK Sign Language News 845." Currently, he actively gives lectures and solo performances nationwide. In December 2023, he appeared in the NHK drama "Deaf Voice: A Sign-Language Interpreter in Court."
Shuwa no Machi Ren
Formed for the opening ceremony of the "City of Sign Language, Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival." For this special occasion, Deaf individuals, hard of hearing, and hearing individuals who use sign language, ranging from beginners to experienced dancers, have come together to present a unique Awa-odori performance incorporating expressions unique to those who perceive the world visually.

Japan Deaf Drum Club
The Japan Deaf Drum Club is a Taiko group formed after performers from all over Japan gathered in an exchange meeting in Yamanashi Prefecture, and founded the following year. Since their first performance in 1994, they have held regular biannual performances and gatherings in various regions. Drumming enthusiasts from all over Japan gather with the motto, "Even if we can't hear, we can do it!", pouring their emotions into each strike of their drumsticks.
Motto: "To tomorrow we resonate—strong, upward, and with emotion! We shout, grasping drumsticks, we who can't hear!"
