[EARLY BIRD OFFER]

On September 29th this year, we celebrate the Fifteenth Night Harvest Moon viewing, but the following month, there is a Thirteenth Night Harvest Moon viewing. The Harvest Moon viewing in September is said to have been introduced to Japan from China during the Heian period, while the Thirteenth Night moon viewing is a unique Japanese tradition. It is considered the "later moon" and is said to be when the moon is exceptionally beautiful, following the Fifteenth Night. During the Fifteenth Night Moon viewing, sweet potatoes are offered in celebration of the harvest, giving it the name "Imo Meigetsu" (Sweet Potato Harvest Moon). In October, chestnuts and beans are harvested, so it's also known as "Kuri Meigetsu" (Chestnut Harvest Moon) and "Mame Meigetsu" (Bean Harvest Moon).

The Thirteenth Night is the counterpart to the Fifteenth Night. It's considered unlucky to only view one of these moons, which is referred to as "Katami Tsuki" (One-sided Moon).

While our actual tea gathering does not involve moon-viewing, it's a chance to enjoy an elegant late autumn moment. It's a formal tea ceremony, but we have planned activities that even those with no experience in tea ceremony can enjoy. The event is divided into two parts, and you can choose to attend either one or both. We look forward to welcoming all of you.
