The Kumi Odori Appreciation Program “Cinderella”
& Kumi Odori “Shushin Kaneiri”
The performance will change drastically depending on the people in the audience, "Cinderella". UNESCO recognized its quality as the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, "Shushin Kaneiri". You can experience the deep Ryukyuan atmosphere with free multilingual audio guide on your smartphone's app!
【Program】
1. The Kumi Odori Appreciation Program “Cinderella”
- This is a program to explain how to appreciate Kumiodori through an audience-participation type program in which the story is completed only when the audience performs on the stage.
- Children, the elderly, and even foreigners are welcome to perform, and the best part of the show is the different styles of each customer.
2. Kumi Odori “Shushin Kaneiri”
- First performed in 1719 during the period of the Ryukyu Kingdom, when Okinawa Prefecture was a single country, it depicts a love affair between a beautiful boy and a woman who had a crush on him.
- It was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010.
