現役の脚本家が、ハリウッド映画の秘密を教えます！
なぜ人は映画を観ると泣いたり笑ったりするのか。
なぜ人は心を動かされるのか。
いくつもの映画のシーンをプロジェクターで映しながら、参加者のみなさんと
話しをしながら、映画の秘密を解き明かしていきます。
ハリウッドで執筆業に携わる日本在住18年の講師が、
その人に合ったレベルの英語で話をするので、英語が苦手な方でも安心です。
小説、脚本、マンガ、RPG等々、ストーリーに関する作品を創作したい人、また単に映画やドラマなどのストーリーに興味のある方も、ゼヒご参加ください！
脚本の学校や映画スクールで教えていることを、6回にぎゅっと詰め込みました。

各回の後、雑談する時間を設ける予定です。

Writing a novel, comic, stage play, or script? Or just want to learn in general how stories work? A professional screenwriter will help you to quickly grasp what is taught over years of film school, and garnered by even more years of industry experience, all condensed into six easy sessions:
Sessions 1-2: Sympathy & Empathy
Sessions 3-4: Structure I & II
Sessions 5-6: Character I & II
Our instructor reveals storytelling secrets by showing selected scenes on a projector and discussing them with the class. Having lived in Japan for many years, he can speak English at a level appropriate for each and every student. So, even if you feel you're not so good at English, you need not be concerned.
After taking the course, many former students have said that they look forward to watching movies anew with the fresh understandings they have gained – their eyes opened for the very first time. And the learning doesn't stop there. The instructor offers former students ongoing e-mail support for any and all writing connected to the class.

We ask that you wear a mask when attending the class. Please also clean your hands, upon entering the classroom, with the sanitizer provided. You can bring non-alcoholic, bottled drinks to the class, but please wait till afterwards if you'd like to join us for other drinks and snacks – when we chat at a bar or restaurant nearby.
